Product Description Each block is made to metric measurements with nominal imperial dimensions. Every item is shrink wrapped to ensure the product remains clean and in perfect condition ready for the artist to use. The backing boards on all these products are acid free, so they won't affect the archival nature of the watercolour paper inside. The cover material is also made by St Cuthberts Mill to archival specifications and free from OBA. The blocks have the cover bound on the long edge, and are glued one all four edges in black glue. Inside each item is Saunders Waterford, which is a premium quality mould made 100% cotton watercolour paper, that has a gelatine surface sizing. It is also buffered with calcium carbonate to combat acid attack finished paintings may encounter from air pollution. Saunders Waterford is suitable for a variety of techniques including watercolour, gouache, acrylic, pastel, pen & ink, charcoal etc. Surfaces Blocks are availbale in HP, CP(NOT) and Rough. HP is the smoothest of the three surfaces and is great for high detail botanical painting, while the CP(NOT) is a good all round middle surface suitable for the majority of different types of work, finally Rough is fantastic for landscapes and seascapes where the surface texture really enhances the composition.
